ANALYSIS OF PRIMARY RESULTS – CLICK HERE
I'm Steve Beren, and I am the Republican candidate for U.S. Congress in Washington’s 7th Congressional District against far left Democratic Party incumbent Jim McDermott. I have been endorsed by Dino Rossi, Rob McKenna, Slade Gorton, Doug Sutherland, Kirby Wilbur, John Carlson, Mike McGavick, and many others (CLICK HERE for list of endorsements).
I succeeded in the August 19 “top two” primary, winning a spot on the November general election ballot. With soaring energy prices, and out of control health care costs, it's becoming more and more clear to the voters that Democratic Party policies have failed. Seattle area voters are increasingly open to common sense Republican alternatives.
Between now and the general election, as I go head-to-head with Jim McDermott, I am confident that my platform and proposals will be appealing to a growing number of people. This year, I've challenged Jim McDermott to a series of broadcast debates. Also, I have called upon McDermott to retract his statement calling our troops in Afghanistan and Iraq “mercenaries” and felons in a “war on civilians.”
